Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Bilbao – Laredo – Santoña – Santander (Saturday)
- • Reception at Bilbao-Concordia Station at 10:00 AM; board the train; crew introduction
- • Panoramic tour of Bilbao with visit to the Guggenheim Museum
- • Lunch on board as the train heads to Treto
- • Coach excursion to the old quarter of Laredo
- • Boat ride across the bay to Santoña
- • Visit to an anchovy cannery in Santoña
- • Train to Santander; panoramic city tour
- • Dinner at a local restaurant in Santander
- • Overnight in Santander
Day 2: Santander – Santillana del Mar – Llanes (Sunday)
- • Breakfast on board, arrival in Cabezón de la Sal
- • Coach to medieval Santillana del Mar
- • Visit to the Altamira Neocave
- • Lunch on board, train into Asturian lands to Llanes
- • Visit Llanes
- • Dinner on board, overnight in Llanes
Day 3: Llanes – Arenas de Cabrales – Oviedo (Monday)

- • Coach to Arenas de Cabrales (heart of the Picos de Europa region)
- • Visit the Cabrales Cheese Cave-Museum
- • Visit the village of Arenas de Cabrales
- • Lunch on board as the train arrives in Oviedo
- • Visit Oviedo, capital of the Principality of Asturias
- • Dinner and overnight in Oviedo
Day 4: Oviedo – Gijón – Luarca (Tuesday)

- • Visit Gijón, dynamic coastal city
- • Free time and lunch in Gijón
- • Afternoon train to Luarca, “the White Town of the Costa Verde”

- • Dinner on board, overnight in Luarca
Day 5: Luarca – Ribadeo – Taramundi – Viveiro (Wednesday)
- • Breakfast on board, arrival in Ribadeo
- • Coach to the Oscos area in western Asturias
- • Visit the Os Teixois ethnographic complex
- • Visit Castro de Taramundi and the cutlery/knife museum
- • Lunch in Taramundi
- • Afternoon train to Viveiro
- • Visit Viveiro; dinner and overnight in Viveiro
Day 6: Viveiro – Ferrol – Santiago de Compostela (Thursday)
- • Final breakfast on board, arrival in Ferrol
- • Farewell to the crew
- • Coach to Santiago de Compostela
